They are easy to find and are called "Year2000" "Y2K" "Millenium Bug" "AC2000" etc: etc: Some programs are good, some advice is quite good, but some is definitely not. By viewing these you will begin to understand the great diversity of opinion that exists over this year 2000 problem. These sites have been added, with proper links at the end of our site, on the Software page. After seeing all the following pages, you could go to any of the other sites, read them, and then come back here and read what we have to say, about the varied opinions you have read. We will also attempt to dismantle some of the myths about this problem, and also tell you what we believe to be true or untrue.

We have purchased, downloaded and tested all kinds of different programs and so called 'fixes' for this millenium problem. We have read masses of literature, and quite frankly we are sceptical about a lot of what we read and saw ! We found programs that tested several areas of the 'date' problem, but nearly always failed one or more tests, and then invited the user to purchase their 'fix' to eradicate the problem. Even worse were the so called 'free' programs that tested the sytem, found a supposed problem, and then invited the user to buy their fix !! Many programs we tested came up with differing results, on the self same computer and conflicted with the results of other programs. Which program is one supposed to believe ?? We hope our analysis and the following pages will help you understand the problem, and make you cautious about rushing out to purchase just anything, because of some extravagant claims it may make. We also hope you will understand that there is a problem with this year 2000 bug, but that having read all our pages, you will approach the problem in an enlightened and sensible manner.
